The daughter of a graphic designer (mum) and photographer (dad), Simin Contractor has been influenced by the creative visual world from a very early age. Having assisted her mum (graphic designer - Rashida) on various photo shoots for advertising campaigns as a young adult, she took her first photographs on a manual NIKON SLR camera- that belonged to her mum!

While completing university with a Degree in Graphic Design, she learnt photography formally, including making her own black & white prints. With the digital age now having taken over, photography becomes an even more challenging space to be in, which she adapted to like fish to water.

Simin has continued to take photographs of a wide variety of subjects, however her focus stays on visuals that involve people. Her father (photographer - Navroze Contractor) has been her ongoing mentor until passing away in June 2023.
